Design Process… the design
Our firm is operated with a tactile, hands on approach.  Although technically adept, philosophically we believe the best design comes from the exploration and exhaustion of all possible options.  Design at Arbour North does not commence without a thorough examination of the site and a complete understanding of design goals.  We incorporate as much media, as needed to best communicate our understanding and the ramifications of the owner / design teams aspirations.  Loose, hand drawn sketches, small scale models, materials research, on site investigation, solar path studies and CAD models all help to understand the proposed project prior to construction.  Understanding the project and verifying its consistency with the mission statement and program prior to construction is paramount.

A Short History… our story
Jed and Roberta Clark founded Arbour North Architecture and Interiors in 1988, in Eugene Oregon.  The product of two enterprising college students, Arbour North provided design and construction services, part time, as permitted by the demands of family life and the relentless grind of architectural studios.  The company relocated to Bellingham in 1991 and lingered in wait while it’s owners pursued gainful employment with local Bellingham architectural firms.  After various logo changes, slight modifications to the name and other important, yet subtle adjustments to the company, Roberta returned full time to the beloved fledgling enterprise in 1997, Jed returned in 2005.  Arbour North is once again in-force with both founders of the company at the helm.
