Design Process…

Our firm is operated with a tactile, hands on approach.  Although technically adept, philosophically we believe the best design comes from the exploration and exhaustion of all possible options.  Design at Arbour North does not commence without a thorough examination of the site and a complete understanding of design goals.  We incorporate as much media, as needed to best communicate our understanding and the ramifications of the owner / design teams aspirations.  Loose, hand drawn sketches, small scale models, materials research, on site investigation, solar path studies and CAD models all help to understand the proposed project prior to construction.  Understanding the project and verifying its consistency with the mission statement and program prior to construction is paramount.

A Short History…
Jed and Roberta Clark founded Arbour North Architecture and Interiors in 1988, in Eugene Oregon.  The product of two enterprising college students, Arbour North provided design and construction services as permitted by the demands of family life and the relentless grind of architectural studios.  The company relocated to Bellingham in 1991.
