Blaine Conservatory:  An adaptive re-use project dedicated to teaching dance to the youth of Whatcom County.  Currently in the design phase, this existing house, downtown Blaine, is being converted into a ballet studio.  An entirely new façade that is fitting to its use and complimentary to the surrounding, downtown, neighborhood will soon promote high art, dance and other forms of physical movement.  Fundamentally different use types, the old house was built with various small rooms.  The new use, however, is dependent on large room sizes and high ceilings.  Substantial demolition and renovation of the interior space is required to provide well-lit lively dance space and appropriate change and shower facilities.
